Monash University provided the opportunity to kick start a professional journey into the earth and environmental sciences.

From climatology to soil science; environmental physics to statistics; hazards to humans, it was all tied together. Each topic intertwined within another to form a wider view.

RMIT was the stepping stone for enabling direct community contributions to the science field through research.

Analysis of air pollution monitoring during the 2014 Hazelwood mine fire in the LaTrobe Valley was conducted and the findings presented to the Government Inquiry into the disaster.

Whether by coincidence or heeded advice, the thesis findings aligned with what became implemented.
